Gausevak killed in ISIS-style [Kawardha, Chhattisgarh]

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the Lalpur village of Kawardha, Chhattisgarh, Gausevak Sadhram Yadav, a 50-year-old man, was brutally murdered on January 20th. The assailants, identified as Ayaz, Idris, Mehtab, and Sheikh Rafiq, allegedly executed the crime by slitting Yadav’s throat, reminiscent of the gruesome tactics employed by ISIS terrorists.

The motive behind the heinous act appears to be an attempt to instill fear ahead of the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Ayaz Khan, one of the accused, reportedly returned from Kashmir before orchestrating the murder. The police have filed an FIR under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), a significant move highlighting the severity of the crime.

This marks the first instance of invoking the UAPA against individuals other than Naxalites in the state, underlining the gravity of the terrorist connection between Ayaz and Idris. Ayaz’s frequent travels to Kashmir and Idris’s contacts with suspicious individuals have raised concerns, prompting a deeper investigation.

The accused intentionally engaged in a quarrel with Sadhram Yadav before carrying out the murder in a manner referred to as ‘Sar Tan Se Juda.’ The brutal nature of the crime has left the residents of Kawardha outraged. In response, the police have arrested the suspects, and their residences have been demolished by the administration.

Kawardha SP Abhishek Pallav revealed that Ayaz Khan’s arrest and subsequent phone search unveiled information about his multiple trips to Jammu and Kashmir. A team from Chhattisgarh sent to Jammu and Kashmir uncovered links to terrorists. Additionally, Idris Khan’s communication with suspicious individuals has further deepened the investigation.

Amidst the tragedy, Hindu organizations are demanding stringent action against the perpetrators. Gausevak Sadhram Yadav’s wife, displaying resilience, returned a government cheque of Rs 5 lakh, expressing her desire for justice rather than financial assistance. The call for justice reverberates through the community as authorities work to unravel the intricate web surrounding this horrific crime.
