Muslim Women Deceive Hindu Grooms, Flee After Marriage [Rajgarh, Rajasthan]

In a troubling case from Rajgarh, Rajasthan, two Muslim women reportedly deceived Hindu grooms, fleeing shortly after their marriages and leaving the men with significant financial losses. The incident highlights issues of trust and fraud in matrimonial arrangements.

According to reports, two Hindu men from Rajgarh, Prem Singh Nagar and Mukesh, arranged marriages with two women from Bihar through a broker. Each groom paid Rs 2 lakh for the arrangement. The weddings were conducted in a Dharamshala located in a predominantly Muslim area of Bihar, where the women pretended to be Hindus for the ceremonies.

Within a week of the marriage, the women revealed their true identities as Muslims and fled. They also threatened to file rape charges against the men if they were not allowed to leave. The situation escalated when the women’s brother arrived in Rajgarh, accusing the men of forcibly taking his sister and presenting proof of her Muslim identity.

Despite notifying the police, the men faced difficulties recovering their money. The police reportedly did not take significant action, and the women returned to Bihar without repercussions. The men, fearing further legal complications, eventually dropped the issue of the financial loss.

The wedding ceremony had taken place in a Muslim-majority area, and the grooms had received a receipt for Rs 15,000 from the broker. The case underscores the risks and challenges faced by individuals seeking spouses from different regions and communities, particularly in areas with skewed sex ratios like Rajasthan.

The involvement of the broker remains unclear, and there has been no substantial follow-up on actions against him. This incident adds to the list of cases where young men from Rajasthan have faced betrayal while seeking partners from poorer states.
