Man Arrested for Raping and Blackmailing Hindu Woman with Fake Identity [Jaipur, Rajasthan]

In a disturbing incident that has reignited concerns over “love jihad,” the Rajasthan police have arrested a man named Salman Khan for the heinous crime of raping a 25-year-old Hindu woman under false pretenses. Operating a mobile repair shop in Jaipur, Khan deceived the victim by assuming a Hindu identity. He then proceeded to sexually assault her, record obscene videos, and blackmail her into paying him 2-4 lakhs of rupees. Additionally, he coerced the woman to accompany him to Delhi against her will by threatening to publicly release the explicit videos on social media platforms. The incident came to light when the victim’s family filed a complaint with the Shipra Path police station.

Responding swiftly, the police launched an investigation, successfully rescuing the victim from Delhi and apprehending Salman Khan in the National Capital. During the inquiry, it was revealed that the accused had previously targeted 3-4 other Hindu women using similar tactics. The police seized Khan’s mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination. Currently, they are interrogating the accused to gather more information about his modus operandi. Furthermore, the victim’s statement has been recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Amit Kumar, the Station House Officer at Shipra Path police station, shed light on the case, stating, “The victim first encountered the accused 5-6 years ago. Salman Khan, a resident of Ajmer who dropped out in the 8th standard, had even purchased a scooty in her name.”

This incident underscores the grave nature of “love jihad” and the urgent need for stringent measures to protect vulnerable individuals from falling victim to such deceptive practices. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of awareness, vigilance, and swift action by law enforcement agencies to combat crimes against women and uphold justice.
