SDPO Chingtham Anand shot dead by Kuki militants [ Manipur, India ]

Sub Divisional Police Officer Chingtham Anand was killed by a sniper shot in Manipur. As per a media report, when the sniper shot him, he was in charge of clearing up the Eastern ground for helicopter landings. DSP Anand succumbed to his injuries and died at a Moreh hospital.

The incident occurred at Moreh town Ward No. 7, Eastern Shine School Ground, under Tengnoupal district, when the deceased police officer was on duty on a makeshift helipad.

DPO Chingtham Anand was killed by  Kuki insurgents while stationed in Moreh.

According to authorities, suspected Kuki extremists have been hunting down the police officer for quite some time. The terrorists ambushed the Police official while he was inspecting the preparations for the helicopter landing. SDPO Anand was killed by a bullet believed to have been fired from a sniper weapon.

During the ambush, SDPO Ch. Anand was seriously injured. The cops transported him to Moreh hospital, but he died from his injuries later.
