After Bangladesh, desecration of temples by ‘miscreants’ is turning out to be quite frequent in West Bengal. This time, on 04 October, a Durga idol has been vandalised in the Nadia district of West Bengal.

According to information received, members of the Puja Committee informed on Thursday morning that the Durga Murti and other Murtis have been broken. This caused great outrage in the region. The police reached the spot after receiving the information.

According to reports, unknown miscreants broke  Durga Murti in Bakultala under Palashipara Police Station in Nadia.

On the evening of Wednesday, October 4. All the Murtis had their hands cut off and several parts were broken. As per the locals and members of the Puja Committee the Murtis are said to have been  broken the previous night.

A member of the puja committee said, “We have registered a written complaint with the Palashipara police station. The police inspected the place and promised to identify and arrest the culprit.”
