Hindus lodge complaint against Zahoor Sarder (54) raping a 10-year-old girl; Islamists attacked Hindu village, threaten to take back the complaint [ West Bengal, India ]

Islamists ransacked houses, beat  Hindus and looted valuables after police took action one from their community. The incident comes from a Hindu village in Barot under Magrahat police station in South 24 Parganas district.

According to reports, a Muslim man named Zahoor Sarder (54) raped a minor Hindu girl (10) belonging to the  SC community on September 30. After that, the family filed a complaint at the Magrahati police station. However, the police did not take any action against the accused as the accused is the brother of a local influential TMC leader. However, the girl fell ill and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. After that, Zahoor Sarder was immediately arrested by the police.

The Hindu villagers were disheartened and are poor. Hence, they have demanded the culprit to pay for the medical expenses. Since then,  the Hindu village has been attacked

A Hindu villager revealed, “The police raided the village under pressure from the local TMC party and its notorious leader Selim Molla. The police tortured women, ransacked  homes and looted all valuables.”

Hindu villagers also said that the attacks took place at night and the criminals threatened them to drop the case.

On 10 October, 2023, angry Hindu villagers  gathered outside the house of local TMC MLA Namita Saha yesterday. They demand justice and protection.
