On the midnight of 13 April, 2023, an idol of Lord Shiva was broken at Laskarhat police station of Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal.
As per a media report, the head of the sacred idol was severed, in Talibani style and thrown outside the temple.
A local revealed that the temple was constantly being targeted for a few days. The resident said, “For the last few months, some unknown persons are targeting the temple. Whenever, we put light in the temple, they are broken. We demand immediate arrest of the culprits.”
Even though democratically elected, the Chief Minister has always proved to be favouring a particular community, which has now become the reasons of such horrific crimes.
Such reports of temples being attacked are heard often from West Bengal.
