BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir vandalized by Khalistani attackers [ Melbourne, Australia ]

On January 12, the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, located in the northern suburb of Mill Park, Melbourne, was damaged by the Khalistani attackers. The walls of the temple were defaced by spray painting anti-India and slogans against the Indian government.

The horrific condition of the temple was first noticed by a devotee identified as Patel, who reached the temple in the morning, just like every other day. The walls were defaced with graffitis and praises of Khalistani terrorist Bhindranwale were painted and calling him a ‘Martyr’. The text ‘Sant Bhindranwale is Martyr’ was written in one place.

It also bore slogans such as “Hindu-stan Murdabad”, and “Modi Hitler.”

In a statement, the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir administration said, “We are deeply saddened and shocked by these acts of vandalism and hate. BAPS has always been committed to peaceful coexistence and dialogue with all faiths and peoples. We have apprised the authorities and are cooperating fully with them. We offer our prayers for peace and harmony and will provide a fuller statement in due course.”
